Depluming Mites And How To Treat Hens???

Did the ivermectin treatments ever cure your chickens from the depluming mites? I just did my first round of pour on with half my girls last night. It’s getting bad. I call them sticks because they have no plumage in their feathers.

    My Chickens Look Horrible.. Help

My eight hens look awful. They are almost 1 year old and for the last 5-6 months they have been looking worse and worse. I should note I feed the highest protein feed I can find (18-20%) and supplement with meal worms and black oil sunflower seeds, daily. I'd be surprised if it was a protein...

Chicken Breaking All Her Feathers :( HELP

I haven't seen any correlation between my chickens if they have scraps and if they don't. I give meal worms + sunflowers seeds + high protein diet with some greens or fruit/veggie scraps. I try not to give too many carbs. I hope I can figure out what's going on with mine soon!

    Feather eating behaviors

NOTHING! I'm sooo frustrated. I am still feeding high protein everyday and nothing has changed, if anything it's getting worse. Still no lice or mite sightings.. I've searched the internet relentlessly and haven't found anyone with the same issue that has good insight.

Over preening or is my chicken sick?

Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue with most of my hens! I can't find information on this ANYWHERE!

Chicken Breaking All Her Feathers :( HELP

More like excessive preening. They don't "eat" them but they excessively preen around their tails and wings. But again, I've checked for mites and lice and can't see them. I have had chickens for 4-5 years and they always seem to have this issue. I took about a 9 month break from having chickens...

    Chicks in Garage— too cold?

I have 9 babies about 1.5 weeks old. I moved them from the laundry room to the garage (with a heat lamp of course.) We are getting nights in the 20s and 30s still— hopefully the garage is staying about 20 degrees warmer. I used a thermometer to check the temp and the brooder has areas between...

Help! Is 75% too high during hatch? Currently hatching.

Update, 9/9 of the eggs that pipped, hatched. 70-75% humidity seemed to work well!

Help! Is 75% too high during hatch? Currently hatching.

The chicks are currently hatching and the humidity rose to about 75-76%. Is this okay? I read they can drown if it’s too high and I don’t want that to happen. Additionally I don’t want to open the lid and risk anyone being shrink wrapped. Any advice? Should I suck out some water? I have the...

Chicken Breaking All Her Feathers :( HELP

I have 8 hens that are 10 months old. They are all looking AWFUL. Feathers around the base of their tail/back are all broken, wing and tail feathers starting to have the “fluffy” part eaten off.. it’s awful. But one chicken looks like every single feather on her body has been eaten/broken off...

    Feather eating behaviors

I’m also struggling with this except ALL of my hens have it and it’s 10x worse than her photos. It feels like excessive preening or irritation but I haven’t found any trace of lice or mites. Some of the birds even look like their have pecked the fluff off their tail and wing feathers and just...
