anybody have chickens stop laying already for winter? this is my first year with my girls most are young pullets not laying except 1 she has been laying everyday for about a month and suddenly the past week no eggs? ive wondered if she wasnt eating enough but made sure food was never empty...- MakelaNJoe

lived a few different places mainly right downtown i always loved being close to the activities they held down there! i loved napa the weather was AMAZING but i moved up to lake county to have my family (my 2 toddler boys)although the weather is much more severe here. i like the small urban area...- MakelaNJoe

What treat did your chickies get today?
bag of fresh spinach, an apple, half an orange, half a cucumber cut langth wise, and a few baby carrots... the carrots are not a favorite around our coop. lol!- MakelaNJoe

Who else is waiting for that first egg?
i just got 2 red sex links last weekend and they are about 11-12 weeks. im really curious when they will lay as they are much bigger then my silkieXpolish girls who are about 24-25 weeks! only getting one egg a day from nugget my silkieXpolish pullet and the eggs are on the very small size...- MakelaNJoe

^ this isnt entirely accurate in my opinion, i have a pullet silkieXpolish that has a v like stringy crest you would expect her to be a roo... atleast i did until she laid an egg 2 weeks ago!- MakelaNJoe
