    Non-Layers Picking on Layer?

We have a small flock of 5 hens, all the same age. We got them as bitty chicks, so they've always been together. Our leghorn just began laying on Sunday (and is already laying full size eggs, woohoo!), which is fantastic for us but doesn't seem to be going too hot for her. The other birds...

11 Weeks Old - All Pullets?

Any guesses? The white one with the straight up and down tail is a leghorn. Not sure if that makes much of a difference.

The chickens slept in their new (but not totally finished) coop last night. There's very little better than knowing those adorable yet horrendously stinky and, at 6 weeks, huge chickies are no longer i my garage! They seem to be much happier, too.

~3 Day Old RIR Chick Pecking

Thank you! If she keeps it up, I'll quarantine her. It seems the others are pecking her, and each other, back today, so I'm not as worried. And everyone still seems to have their feathers. :) Thanks again!

~3 Day Old RIR Chick Pecking

I have been stalking this forum for 5 years, and had hoped my first post would be about my newbies and how adorable they are. Unfortunately, the moment we got home with said newbies (today), I noticed our RIR is a bit on the... well, uppity side. She pecks the bejeebus out of the other 3 chicks...
