    What is this huge bump?

Yeah I realized a few hours after I posted this that it mus be their crop. I felt REALLY silly! :) Seriously....I was picturing myself having to lance and drain all these gross, fluid filled lumps! I'm so glad I jump to the worst possible conclusion

    What is this huge bump?

I have about 7-8 Cornish cross chickens that are all 5 weeks old and they all have lumps like this on one shoulder (upper breast?). They don't seem sick or anything. I feed them flock raiser and try to stick with the 12hr on 12hr off schedule (I remember about 75% of the time). Any help?

    Possible 'roo? (Welsummer)

Okay...so after searching around here for some hints...I looked at the legs and I think I have the breeds figured out. Now all I need to know is if someone can help me figure out the genders. The pic of the Welsummer suspect in the middle front...and there is one to his right with rather large...

    Possible 'roo? (Welsummer)

I got 6 chicks at the farm store a few weeks ago....so I THINK these are about 2.5 weeks old. They are in the corral with a few meaties....so ignore those big guys :) I've figured out how to tell them apart....but I think I have a 'roo! Let's see if I can post pics..... This one shows the...

Silkie mixes??? *new pictures in OP*

Actually I just went and gathered an egg (she laid it within the last hour) and it's a peachy color. A noticeable change from the one I got yesterday evening. I don't know who laid what yet. But the smaller hen likes to just hang out in the box. I don't know if she is in there getting ready to...

Silkie mixes??? *new pictures in OP*

Quote: I'm not sure. Their eggs have been smaller than the eggs I usually get at the grocery store....does that tell you anything? Can you tell I'm a total noob? Lol! Whatever they are, I paid $5 each for them...good deal? Still no names....although I'm thinking about Betty White and Bea...

Silkie mixes??? *new pictures in OP*

I'll need some advice soon on combining younger chickens with these two 1 year hens. I have three chicks (2 barred rocks, 1 white rock) and they are about 3.5 weeks old...in that awkward funny looking phase. But I adore them never thought I'd get so attached to them so quickly! My kiddos named...

Silkie mixes??? *new pictures in OP*

I just picked these chickens up this afternoon...I'm not sure what type they are. Any ideas? The lady said they were about 1 year old and lay 1 egg each a day. One has some feathers on it's legs/feet and more puffy feather on her head on top of her head. The other has some puff to the top of her...
