    Scaley Mites on Hen

I have one two year old hen with scaley legs. Her legs are also mottled with grey and red splotches. The scales are slightly lifted. She also has some white spots on her comb. Does this look like mites? Gold laced Wyandotte. Not sure if she is laying because we have two. She is acting healthy.

    Chicken struggling to bok

I had some left over baytril on hand and gave her a dose last night and this morning. She has improved. The honking is less and her breathing is not as stressed. That leads me to believe it is an infection.

    Chicken struggling to bok

The fluid was noted after I picked her up. But, it was awhile later. I sat with her and observed for an hour. The temperature got to the low 90s yesterday. That is slightly warmer than we have had so far this summer. I'll check the crop this morning.

    Sudden Death

Update: We sent her in to the state lab for a necropsy. The pathologist said her liver had ruptured, but she did not have fatty liver. Apparently, this is not common but happens sometimes.

    Poopy booty pullet

One of my girls seems to have a frequently poopy booty. She hasn’t had any health issues yet. Is this normal? Should I trim the feathers? Also newbie question, do you bathe chickens in winter? She is 8.5 months old, gold lace Wyandotte.

    Sudden Death

We fed the four about a half pound a day I think. We don’t weigh it out, but this is our best guess. Treats were by the handful a 2-3 times a day.
