This is the inside of the coop I built a few years ago. I've since learned that the litter boxes under the perches are hard to clean. The front lip should have been on a hinge. Also, the hens don't tend to roost there anyway. They like the rafters.
lol I don't really know how it works except that once it's hooked up to the hose, I don't have to do anything at all and the water stays perfect clean.
We go away all summer. I have three different water sources and someone comes by every other day to refill the feeders, clean the poop boards and make sure all the water sources are working. My girls free range and put themselves to bed at night so they're easy.

Hey Guys! Two of the six eggs I put under my broody silkie hatched! One yesterday and one today.
I put them under her on March 1 or 2. How long should I give the other eggs before I toss them?
Thanks so much. The nest and (still eggs) are about four inches off the ground Once a chick jumps down, it won't get back up to mama. I figured chicks would stay with her for a day or two so maybe the rest would hatch. All the eggs were laid on the same day.

A friend gifted me with the most darling little Serama hen. I'm in love!
I'm keeping her indoors, at least for now. She sits on my lap and preens while I scratch under her wings. SO DARN CUTE!
