    My quail cannot stand up

I went on a vacation and asked my neighbors to take care of my birds and I came back to this. One of my female quails cannot stand up or fly because her right leg couldn’t move and keeps on closing her eyes and opening them again after awhile, as if she is trying to sleep but couldn’t rest. She...

    A question about eggs

They are still young but I will fix these problems soon for the future. I keep my quails inside so they usually don't get day lights at all and I have moved them around a bit, so I might get them a cage outside soon after a while so they don't get stressed of moving all the time.

    A question about eggs

I had someone check my quails sex a month ago and she said all 5 of them are female(Though I have my doubts because she isn’t a professional). They started laying eggs 1-2 weeks ago and after that for 3 days I would always find 1 or 2 eggs in their dust bath. Though after that they stopped...

    Playsand in dust bath

Thanks! I apprentice the information! I’ll get some soil and see if my chick and birds like it :)

    Playsand in dust bath

I do have soil and sand where I live, but I got my hands in a lot of children's playsand which I don't know what to do with and I am wondering if using playsand is harmful to chicks, quails, or poultry in general.

    Chick with sour crop

I am over 80% sure that he has sour crop but I'll check next morning and hopefully what you said was true. This is going to make me sound irresponsible again but I don't know what kind of pellets I use as my parents got them from a family friend who also raises chickens. I'll start decrease the...

    Chick with a sour crop

Thank you! I might have to use olive oil for now but I’ll definitely get coconut oil as fast as possible!

    Chick with a sour crop

Thank you so so much, but sorry to bother again, is there any alternatives to coconut oil?

    Chick with a sour crop

The chick is about 5 weeks old already, and to be honest I didn’t know that chickens needed grit, really irresponsible of me but at least I know what not to do in the future. I live in B.C, Canada with only one chick which I feed a mixture of a pack of wild bird food, some chicken pallets, rice...

    Chick with sour crop

(I have posted this in another thread but I am really worried) I was holding my chick to clean out it's brooder when I realized the chick's crop is extremely soft, I accidentally pressed a little too hard on it and he vomitted out a white-ish clear liquid. I searched online and the websites say...

    Chick with a sour crop

I was holding my chick to clean out it's brooder when I realized the chick's crop is extremely soft, I accidentally pressed a little too hard on it and he vomitted out a white-ish clear liquid. I searched online and the websites say my chick most likely has a sour crop. My mom doesn't allow me...

    Hi I am new :)

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I got two chicks during the spring break, one male one female, sadly what seemed to be the female died after a week but the male is still going well. (I believe, I really need to check in with the vet sometimes though.) (2) How...
