Hens are brooding and it's spreading help!

Can two hens go in the same broody buster or will they peck at one another? I have two that are broody and only one buster (a large wire dog crate off the ground).

    SLEEPING IN THEIR RUN

I saw this post and have the same issue. Our one year old chickens stopped putting themselves in the coop quite a while ago. Every night they settle in the same spots on the roosts in their run. Every night we go out there and put them in their coop. I have a couple of theories as to why, the...

    Sudden Chicken Death Syndrome?

Found this thread and am comforted by it. My black australorp, Mrs Toadflax, died overnight. I tucked her in myself around 830 last night. Came out this morning and she was dead in the coop. A hen died overnight in the coop and we are beside ourselves!

She is a black australorp and the largest and sweetest of our four chickens. I'm just beside myself. I feel like I failed her in some way but I literally...

    Earlobe injury or disease?

I just got her to let me hold her and inspect it. It really is hard for me to tell, but it seems like enlarged and fleshy with the dark line down the middle being a wound with dried blood. I mean it looks so much unlike the normal earlobe I don't know how to describe it.

    Earlobe injury or disease?

It is larger and whiter than the normal side. To me it looks torn or like it got caught and stretched. Honestly when cleaning it with the qtip I was alone with my 5 and 3 year old trying to clean a chicken wound (ha!) and my husband could not see it until after dark. So I have not successfully...
