Well, I just chased a FOX out of the yard!

We sure do have rats and mice living by a canal. Tried to make friends with the cat but he is skittish and runs off when I say kitty, kitty - even gave him some tuna. Thanks for the tip. Liked your photo.

Thank you Rock Home Isle. I am sure gonna be on the lookout, I've also seen an orange and white cat has been hanging around the perimeter by the fence. I am so attached to my chickens after just a few weeks. I'll greet them with hello babies and they are starting to talk back.

Speckled Sussex 4 weeks or so is sleepy and at times keeps to herself

Yes, found my girl. :) She was under an areca bush. Gave her the bath (thank you for your info on bathing her) and she is ever so much better and going along with the rest of the flock now as usual.

One of my RIR girls has is keeping to herself, which she and another one did since I brought her home several weeks ago as pullets. A censored hawk got two of them on day two of bringing them home. Could she have internal injuries caused by the hawk that maybe hurt her. She has no injuries...

    A very sad day.

So sorry for you loss. I had a bad day like that yesterday. Hawk got two of my girls, came outside because I heard all the mocking birds and blue jays having a fit and saw a big red shouldered hawk was standing over eating one of my sweet girls. Got over the brutal initial shock of that...
