Thanks, was a great read. Basically i will know for sure in the spring i hope.
One more question, in the begining i wanted a pair. What is a good number/sex to keep problems away ? (agresive betwen them and myself/family). For now they dont have any issues with me, they lightly bite my kid ass...
I made a movie with them in their shelter for the night, during day are free to roam in the yard.
In the beginning the larger one is in front, smaller ones are in the back. "boci boci" is a call they are used to hear when i want to "talk" with them or call them.
The larger male, 2 smaller...
thanks, will do later this week.
I got all three from the same shop (were 4 initially, but one died :( no ideea why, i just found her dead ).
I atached a picture from may 23 2020, all were the same size/age. Probably 7 month old now, not sure how old they were when i bought them. (top 1 month...
Heya.
Those are my 3 geese, ~6 months old.
Any ideea what breed/sex they are ?
I'm almost sure the two smaller on the left are males, they are the most agressive, the one on the right is bigger than both, but is calmer. if they are 2m/1f, it is safe to break them and give a male away, and keep...
Heya, proud "owner" of 4 geese ~3 weeks old. I asked at the shop were i bought them what kind are, and they tell me "geese" :)) for now i feed them with store food and lots of dandelion. Any ideea what they are ?
Some more questions. They will live in a garden ~400m2 with grass and diverse...
this was my first homemade incubator (done by myself). until now my parent did the incubation part, in a comercial one, which i dint like. (~40% best incubation rate)
thanks for the link, i already readit, but there is an incredible amount of info. hard to put 100% a diagnostic :), and next week...
i manage to obtain a 60 % icubation rate.
problem is that infertile eggs were to few.
i opened a few eggs and the problem is that embrion seems to be fully developed, (so is a late death) but they dint pip into the "air room", so they die in the shell probably becasue asphixiation.
what's...
i took out autoturn grate, i manage to get humidity at 65.
first pip. ~12 h early i think, but i've made some mistakes during this days (one time unfortunatley temperature was over 39 for 5-10 minute) so i'm rather pesimistic :( . still hope everything is ok in the end.
and one more question.
auto turn is not perfect.
egs are marked with lines. so i may have 30 with one line up 20 with the same line down.
on day 18 should i manually make sure that every egg is on the same mark ? or i should leave them how they are ?
i'm getting close to the lockdown period. pictures with incubator : https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/955735/safe-distance-between-lightbulb-eggs/10#post_14878836
not sure what are the final steps.
1' should i remove the autoturn grate entirely ? or i should it stay there ? i separate egg...
well, is on. i put 30 australorp eggs, 20 italian ones.
i put 2 plastic pieces under each bulb for the heat to not directly hit egs under them.
manage to get an average temperature on 37.5, measured with 3 thermometers, an about 30% humidity. (digital hydrometer have a 10% error :))
wish me luck...
