Hey Guys, I’m in the market for a couple of ducklings…. I am finding it quite difficult to find a breeder that breeds anything other than Muscovy’s! I love the look of call ducks but don’t think we can get them here…. Does anyone know of a good breeder? I am now thinking of Orpingtons to match...

    Broody breaking question

Hi, I’ve always made a “jail” by fencing off a part of my run where she can’t get to the coop and just before bedtime I let her back with the others to sleep and do the same each day until she’s no longer broody. 5 days was the longest it took me to break her. Good luck with your girl ☺️

Egg bound with yucky wound and maggots!!

Thank you. Yes, alit of people think I’m crazy for the way I love my chickens. They are absolutely part of the family. My cats even go and hang out in the chicken area with them. They are all friends 🥰🥰 I will get 2 more in the spring to take me back up to 5. 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓

No, sadly she didn’t we had to put her to sleep as she had developed peritonitis. Very sad, and to make things even sadder I lost my favourite chicken daisy, last month. She gradually went down hill after Lilly died. I think it was a broken heart because they were inseparable 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Thanks so much. Yes, very sad. She was my favourite. When we first got her home she had a sore leg, so spent a lot of time with her which made her very friendly. She was the best chicken. I’m getting teary again now, writing this! 🤦🏼‍♀️🥺🥺

I got some of this after work today…the label says 5ml/L (that’s for garden use) @TheFatBlueCat is that the dilution you used?? She seems a bit better tonight. I gave her some anti inflammatory to make her a bit more comfortable. She wasn’t eating so I (carefully) gave her some poly aid by...

Yes, the DE is ok. It is making a difference but there still seems to be some and then the eggs hatch and I’m back to square one again!! I’m at my wits end to be honest. She is my fav chicken (I didn’t say that, I love them all equally 🤪)

Yeah, I’ve been using ivomectin weekly for a month, this Wednesday and it doesn’t seem to be touching her! So frustrating because she should be getting better. I’ve got enviro shield concentrate which I spray in the coop every time I clean it (which is weekly)

Hi all. Question, has anyone used permethrin spray on your chickens for mites?? I have been treating my bkack orpington, Daisy for about 3 weeks now. I am dusting her with DE but there always seems to be some crawling on her skin. From reading about it I think I have worked out she has northern...
