We are making a roosting box out of pallets. You could easily piece it together with hinges that would come apart for your winter move. Here's some pics of what my hubby has done midway for our roosting box.

They named him bossy cuz they think he's the boss. We're hoping to hatch a good amount of more chicks in the spring. Keeping fingers crossed that the two in the basement are hens to add to the flock.
