So my birds are not super handleable, and I try not to stress them out by chasing them down, but I'm starting to worry about how little food they're eating.
I live on about 3.5 acres and have 13 chickens (12 hens, 1 roo). Everyone looks really good as far as I can tell. Eggs are normal with...
Thank y'all for all your advice. I suppose if it lays that's all that matters. But if I could go back in time and buy every welsummer in that brooder I would .
Do the others look like barnevelers to you? Maybe they're all not what they said and that's why they don't act like the descriptions I've seen online. Because everywhere says they're supposed to be calm and these birds are NUTS. I even hand raised them and they're just crazy.
This is a 5 month old barneveler rooster according to the woman who gave it to me. We bought from the same batch at pickets. But I'm still not convinced it is. But I'm new to this breed (and honestly not liking them :idunno) and the roosters look a bit different.
I'll tell you this little...
Yeah I'm positive it's a welsummer lol. I just don't know why it doesn't look the same as the others. Your bird is exactly what my other 2 welsummers look like. It acts like a hen, but that doesn't explain the difference in color or why it molted so early when the other 2 didn't.
I can't really get a good full body picture bc it's a crazy flighty bird. Did manage to catch it even though it scratched the ever-living crap out of me so here is like a close-up of the face.
It's around 6 months. Single comb. And I can't get a good picture of it but there's an iridescence...
So idk where to put this and I want to put at the start I'm not trying to be weird or controversial I just genuinely have no clue what is going on with this bird.
This is Rosemary
Rosemary is supposed to be a welsummer hen. This is Rosemary as a baby
So from everything I know this is...
So I hope this is in the right place. I got it of the chicken business when I moved to Alabama a few years ago because I didn't wanna move my 20 chickens all the way down here. But I've missed having them and impulse bought myself a batch of chicks.
The place I moved to has an old barn and...
