    My guess is they are all male. Very slow to feather.

    I have also noticed some green shine on number 2s new feathers coming through. Would this indicate a male too?

    We picked up some Australorp chicks and we are not sure of the age and gender. Any help would be great.

    Sick hen

    I have a sex link hen that is about 6 months old. She laid for about 2 weeks and now she hasn’t laid for 2 weeks. She is always laying down and seems very lathargic, always closing her eyes and sitting. I have attached a picture of her poo and it seems very runny.

    I have a bird with the exact same symptoms... she has not laid an egg now for 3 days.. but she has been acting like this for 7 days... I’m just hoping she will kick good...

    Thanks for the info and I’ll do what you say. I’m very new to this. I feed a laying pellet which I just switched too ( I don’t no if they like it) then I feed some kitchen scraps in the arvo with scratch mix.

    Hmm possibly.. could it happen so fast? She is only 6 months old and I have probably dusted her twice.

    I just checked and yes it’s a bit swollen. She is also drinking but vomiting it up
