I had 4 Easter eggers that were each laying an egg almost every single day. a couple weeks ago a neighbors dog killed one of them, since then the remaining 3 haven’t laid a single egg. Is this normal? Are they just traumatized?
They stay in the run most of the day even though they have the option to free range, so hopefully they’ll lay there and not in the neighbors corn field, but I’m sure I’ll find out eventually 😂
I have 4 Easter eggers that are all 22 weeks old and none of them are laying. only one of them has a red face and she’s getting a little comb. The others still have really pale faces, are the others late bloomers or should they also have red faces and combs by now? Also I’m in Texas so it’s...
I’m also very new at this, these are the first chickens I have ever had, it’s very confusing, but I can’t keep all these cockerels so I’m trying to determine who needs to find a new home and who is staying g
I’ve read too much about identifying the gender of Easter eggers and I’ve confused myself. I was almost sure all of these were cockerels, but again, I’ve confused myself. They’re around 12 weeks. None of them have crowed, but I do have one that is very dominant and crows a lot
It’s really hard for me to tell on this one because of the solid color. Feathers make me think pullet, but comb makes me think cockerel. This one is very mean to all the others, so I’m going to find it a new flock either way
I have a pullet that’s not putting weight on one leg. I checked and I don’t see any wounds and it doesn’t look like anything is wrong, but for 2 days she won’t get up and walk around unless absolutely necessary and stumbles when she puts weight on one of her legs. She is still eating and...
It’s definitely out of character for her to not come out and run around (especially during their free range time), but it is about 15 degrees cooler outside today than it has been for the last few weeks and it’s been raining on and off all day. So I’m thinking she’s just cold and doesn’t want to...
