    Thank you so much! Still in the incubator, the navel looks good now and they’ll be ready to join the other chicks tomorrow. Here they are this evening, I pulled them out to check on them (while the next egg, egg #1, started pipping 😂)

    Also helped the other chick out, blood vessels were all dry but she was for sure stuck in the membrane. I carefully chipped away the egg shell to make sure the membrane was ready to come apart. Didn’t see any vessels. The membrane was dried to her back and abdomen. Was able to coax it back with...

    #11 is out of the egg. Just needed a little help getting unstuck from the dry membrane. Looks good! Yolk fully absorbed, blood vessels were all dry and he looks good I think! Back in the incubator to fluff up.

    They were starting to zip last night. One hasn’t made much more progress. The one pictured made more progress but isn’t out of the egg. Less rocking and chirping than yesterday.

    I thought that about #3 too but wasn’t 100% sure. Here is where we’re at this morning...zipping started last night as I was going to bed. They’re partially zipped but still in the egg. This is egg 11, this morning.

    Incubator for a hatching newbie

    There are fancier looking models but honestly, I read so many great reviews for this one I got it. It's super straight forward, hard to find a fault with it so far.

    Thanks again. I'm comfortable he's not suffocating, because he's peeping right into the hole, I can clearly see his beak moving. I am more concerned that the humidity was low...I hope I didn't shrink wrap him is all 😢
