Looks like a mallard. You can feed it peas and corn or hard boiled eggs made into small pieces until you can get dome duck starter. Duck starter can be found at a feed store. Or you could bring it to a wildlife center where they can r and r it with ducklings its age. Just make sure to keep it...
I thought of doing that but the egg has a small crack in it from the beginning, it looks like the water may be able to get in. I'm just too afraid it will ruin the egg.
The others hatched yesterday and I remember setting one egg at 11pm so this one must be it. I candles it and tapped but I didn't see movement the whole egg is pretty much taken up by the chick but I can still see veins. Do the veins still being visible mean its alive?
The temp has been 37.3 most of the time, its never been higher than 38 and humidity has been around 40 or 55% in a forced air incubator. The chick was completely normal and was growing properly as far as I could tell.
I have a chicken Egg That Is at the end of Day 22. The chick has been fine and growing properly. I candled yesterday and it was moving in the Egg with no internal pip. I Just candled again and i didnt see any movement but i did see veins by the air sack in the space that the chick hadnt taken up...
Tysm! I was afraid to turn off my incubator cause I didn't know if they were actually dead. 5 of them are for sure dead and 2 I'm not sure about. I'll candle again tomorrow but I'm pretty sure that they're all dead. I was sad, but it happens. So I'll start incubating a new batch if eggs in 2 1/2...
