    Orpingtons

I was told by an Orpington breeder I consulted before putting them on here that they are hens with very pronounced combs, and are older than the rest, since i thought the same thing. There is one who looks like this rooster in this photo from an UK breeder and the rest all look like the hen in it.

    Hello!

hey I’m Lindsay! Originally from NY, now living in NC. We have a back yard flock of about 20 chickens but I’m trying to downsize! I went a bit overboard and a tornado took out one of the pens holdin some of my chickens. Nice to meet everyone!

    Orpingtons

Hey everyone! I am trying to find someone close to the Hickory area of NC who is interested in purchasing 10 Orpington chickens. I have one lavender rooster, one blue rooster and one mottled rooster; plus 7 mottled hens that need to go. We experienced a tornado in our area, which launched the...

    North Carolina

Anyone close to Hickory in Catawba County interested in a juvenile silkie rooster? I have a weird feeling I have 2 left after removing 1 of them. One is white and the other is black. Also does anyone have any pullet Orpingtons and Australorps?

    silkie sexing

We had two whites. We are down to one. I am horrible at figuring out which they are. They all have a tiny little spike on the back of their leg too.

    silkie sexing

Here's all of my Silkies... one of them we know was a rooster due to watching him crow - he found a new home. Another one from the older crew is crowing but I haven't figured out which one. Any help would be appreciated!

    Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

These are my most recent photos of my lavender. Is it still too soon to tell if it's a pullet or a rooster? It's the bravest of the little chick crew and tends to come "check out" anyone who walks into their outdoor pen.

    Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

The largest photo is the day we got the chick, smaller is yesterday. I'm still new to the chicken world and I have no clue how to sex them.

    Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

This is our rescued lavender Ameraucana, at least I was told it is lavender. It's about 2-3 weeks old now, the baby of my crew of 9 chickens. Can you tell if it a rooster or pullet at this age? And is it a lavender for sure? She was free, the lady just wanted her to have a home with friends her...

Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

A friend had a bad mishap with a hatching box and this was the sole survivor. I picked this baby up last night and it became immediate friends with my sizzle, frizzle and silkies who are all the same age.
