    3 hens/6months - dying peacefully?

Thanks for the input! They were 3 and 5. The 5 year old I know had a reproductive issue and that’s what I assumed happened (she stopped laying, grew a large comb and started crowing) but it was around 18 months after that change that she died so I wasn’t sure. The second I have nothing...

    3 hens/6months - dying peacefully?

3 hens have died in the last 6 months. They look as through they are just resting/nesting but their head is down neatly in front of them, kind of like tucked under their feet. Different ages, different breeds. 1 in a dust bath spot, 1 on the floor of the coop overnight, 1 in the nesting box. I...

1yo hen, limping - bumblefoot? Pic attached.

The left foot in this picture. 1 year old Americauna. Just noticed she was limping slightly. Could this be bumblefoot? We haven’t had to deal with this issue before. Am I right to think we need to apply neosporin, wrap and soak the foot in epsom salt every other day?

    Think it’s molting but checking

thank you! Feathers everywhere. Only getting 2 eggs a day lately, I thought it was the hot Texas weather but maybe it’s the molting too. The others maybe be starting up soon (used to get 5-6 eggs a day).

    Think it’s molting but checking

What do you all think? Her feet and wings and getting bare spots. Eating and moving fine. She’s one of 5 and the only one who appears to be like this. Lots of feathers in the coop. 16 months old.

My Chicken is puffed up, lethargic, and standing still. HELP

Thanks to this thread, I was able to treat my chickens for cocci and they responded wonderfully! 2 of them were fine in the morning and by afternoon were puffed up, standing very still and not eating or drinking. We ruled out sour crop and egg bound. I started corps within an hour of noticing...

    Damaged Comb

Our pullet had a black bump on her comb. We thought it was dried poop, so with a wet paper towel gently cleaned it off. It came off in one chunk and we realized it was a scab, not poop. The skin underneath was a bit slimy, like a recovering scrape. We left it be. Two days later now, it looks...

Oh crap, what have I done ...

Where did you order the chicks from? We wanted several breeds as well but the places I’ve seen don’t let you pick 1 of each type...
