    How to reinforce cheap coop

We got this exact coop on sale at Tractor Supply! We already have a huge coop & indoor & outdoor run that we built for our 2 year old flock but we needed a place to integrate our babies so this was perfect for the price. Yes it is very flimsy but it was a great buy for what we needed and...

    Hi from North Georgia!

Nice!!! I used what I had lying around... scrap ribbon, fishing line and mason jar lids but I'll totally check that idea out as I have a few areas left I may add a few more lines as well when we build our garden I will need something! You got quite the deal!

    Hi from North Georgia!

Thanks for the warm welcome! We only had 4' fencing to use so we left our fence posts 5' and filled in with a galvanized wire with ribbons tied/hanging to it so it not only looks cute but it makes the fencing appear higher as the girls won't fly up in to the moving ribbons and less worry about...

Determining age and going outside full time

Thank you! They did great! Yes after I put them on the roosting bar they all jumped down and got in a big pile and quieted down within 15 minutes. I'm leaving them in the coop the next 2 days so we can work on them knowing to go back in at night. Thanks for your thoughts!

Determining age and going outside full time

Thank you! They did great! Yes, I did have to catch each one to get them in to their coop and put on the roosting bar. They only pitched a fit for about 15 minutes and then silence! I'm going to leave them in their coop for 2 days so they can learn to go back in there at night. Thanks for...

    Hi from North Georgia!

I’m Mandy. We have 6 ladies that are 2 years old (we had 8 but lost 2 last month) and 4 babies in the brooder starting their transition outside! We’ve had a lot of fun building their kingdom in our backyard which we keep adding on to. They are very spoiled! I love all the info and support...

Determining age and going outside full time

We got 2 Easter Eggers and 2 Wellsummer on April 25th. We don’t know how old they were at the time... I suspect anywhere from 7-12 days but their feathers seem more mature... they have been outside 10 daylight hours per day in their run in temps between 75-90 for about 6 days now and start...
