I have an existing flock of 15 ladies, three years old. I have a new group of 14 girls and 1 rooster. The newbies are 12 weeks old and they are all together and doing well. I do notice that the older ladies are not too welcoming of Rooster Cogburn. Just curious if this is pretty normal and...
Shes breathing normally but I haven noticed her eating or drinking. Ive been placing water droplet in her beak to get her to take some fluids in. Im pretty sure she can stand as she did when I placed her in the bathroom, but she is staying calm and just laying down.
Just wanted to get some information on treatment for one of my hens that looks like she was attacked my a hawk. I found her last evening when I went to do check that all my girls are were in for the night. She is a Blue/Black Orpington almost two years old. Very healthy and pretty big bird...

So my broody hen just got out of the broody phase. I didnt have fertilized eggs so no chicks. But shes off the nest and roosting again. How long will it take her to get back to laying?
My brooder is big and wont fit in my coop. But Im thinking of putting a smaller roosting bar lower so that the newbies have somewhere to roost. My older girls love being up high so Im thinking they will let them be down lower. Thanks for your response
