I got my 1st egg And i am so excited!!! It is so funny, because everyone thought that she was a rooster because her peacomb was so red at a young age. Here it is! I placed it next to an extra-large white egg and she is a beaut!

The chickens in the flock are about 7-8 months old and the Splash is about 4 months old. I have been introducing the Splash when they are free ranging and have the whole backyard to run around in. The run in the coop is small 4x10, but I have a chunnel that is attached 4x15. There are 2...

Help! I am trying to integrate a 4 month old Splash to the flock, and my 2 Blk Ameraucanas are being bullies. They are not even at the top of the pecking order. I only have a flock of 5. Three are Orpingtons and the 2 blk Amer. They have been around this particular chick for over 2 months...

    Crop issues need HELP!

Hi Heather! So sorry to hear. My Winnie never fully recovered, and sadly I took him to the Vet yesterday and had him put down. That whole crop nightmare is something I hope to never re-live. If you never tried the Dulcolax, that is what cleared Winnie up.

Here is the coop without the chunnel attached to the bottom door. Now I wish I would have out the chunnel door on the other side, so I could open the coop door to clean in the morning. Now I have to wait until the afternoon to clean the coop when I let them free range. The coop is small, and...

Yes, they were very excited to see all these beautiful animals from horses, pigs, goats and chickens. I love these group of kids and their parents. Community service and responsibility is so important to instill in kids today. I hope you find a good source for chicks or chickens. They have...

The chunnel is not stationary, as I move it daily to clean poops. The coop has a small door to attach the chunnel, so that the chickens have extra room to roam and I added another feeding and water station inside the chunnel. The chunnel was necessary when I added the 3 blk Orps so they...

I don't breed them. We are blessed to have a friend who breeds many varieties, in addition to buying and selling hatching eggs. My son started 4-H this year, and I have secretly always wanted chickens, lol, so I kind of steered him to laying hens for his 1st project. We have 3 gorgeous Blk...

Lacy in the above picture is sweet and curious and will eat out of our hands, especially if it is her favorite treat, cut up seedless grapes. We didn't raise her from a young chick, but spend quality time with her and the other young chickens we have. None of them are laying yet, but it...
