Hello! I hatched a chicken from an egg and I don't know if it is a mix or not. I'm would like to show it but I can't if I don't know what breed and variety it is. So per the American Standard of Perfection what breed and variety is this bird? I believe it is an americuana but I am unsure of the...
It appears that all of the mites are gone. There is still some crust on the face. Is there anything I can put on her face like Vaseline, mineral oil, or something?
I went to the vet and she gave them Ivermectin orally. The vet weighed the bird to make sure that the doe was correct. She said that the Ivermectin would make all of the mites crawl out of the skin.
Would it be okay to use a small kitten drop that treats fleas, tics, and ear mites on kittens. It is applied to the back of the kitten's neck to kill the parasites. Would this work on my hen? And is is safe?
Also I noticed one had foamy bubbles on the tear duct of her eye. I rinsed out the eye with water. I am assuming she just got her eye with her nail while scratching. I just thought I would add this to make sure it isn't an issue.
I am certain they are mites and I have already treated the coop.
I already have a spray. But what do I do when the mites are on the face, I can't spray the hen's face?
I have two silkies and both have mites crawling across their faces. They have had mites on their vents before but no longer have those. Now there are red mies crawling on their face especially in the nostril and eye area. About a week ago I found mite eggs in their head feather and I sprayed...
I now this isn't a great picture, but it is what I could get. The wound seems to have somewhat healed. It is like this on both sides. There is also something near the nose on both sides, I don't know what that is. Anyways, she is still starching at her head a lot and shaking it some.
On both sides of the head just above the eyelid, there is a scratch on my hen's head that is bleeding. She will not stop scratching at it. The weird part is that it is pretty much the same scratch on both sides, so it doesn't seem like she just nicked herself on something. What is this? What do...
If I treat her for the wrong thing could it affect her negatively? Is there anything else it could be other than a respiratory disease? Just to let you know I have also seen her shaking her head a little.
