    Update: the necropsy came back as cancer and egg yolk peritonitis as the main cause of death. There were worm eggs in her feces too so we're going ahead and deworming the flock because they take forever to finish molting (some started two months ago and some are just starting).

    Got some chicks for my broody, but I think they were already too old (they're like 3 days old). I'm in soCal (north OC) I want them all to go together. I'm hoping to get back what I paid for them ($8 a piece). They are: 2 dark brahmas, 2 light brahmas, 1 buff orpington and one barred rock.

    Updated 6 week pics: #1 has a small comb, but still no real tail and the tail looks like there might be a small curled green feather (pic included). Anyways, wanted to update for anyone else that might be interested in guessing and because it's fun to see the progression.

    I got some fertilized eggs from a small chicken farm for my broody hen, so they're all mixed breeds. They're about a month old, so pretty early to sex, I know, but just for fun.
