    Very pale comb and skin?

You should get them all. If one has them, the others likely have them. I have dosed that many birds individually and it may take a little over a half hour the first time. The best time to handle them is in the morning before sunrise when crops are empty. It helps to have banded bird so you don't...

How I do it is deworm with a direct fed dewormer like Valbazen or Galliverm Plus, treat for coccidiosis 5-7 days, then run vitamin-probiotic powder in waterers for 2-3 days, then on the 10th day, deworm once more. Since you are using Wormout in water, treat water for two days like the label...

You're both welcome. Let me know how your birds fare with treatment. There are common problems we come across raising birds, and once we find a good regiment of prevention, many of those common problems can be avoided. Sometimes it is a crap shoot and many different diseases demonstrate the same...

The problem with piperazine, the ingredient in Wazine, is that it is only effective against roundworms. Piperazine paralyzes the worm and they are passed in droppings. That is bad if the bird has lots of worms. The benefit of benzamidazoles is that they cause cellular damage to a worms in...

With benzamidazoles it is often recommended to give 14 days withdrawal.

If numerous birds prevent you from performing individual treatment, I'd recommend Wormout gel. Dosage is 48 ml (a little over 1.5 oz per gallon for 2 days straight as the only source of drinking water. http://www.allbirdproducts.com/newproductpages/worm_out.html

The dewormer you linked is not guaranteed to work unless they eat enough of it over a period of time. I've used it and birds will pick around it unless you want to go to the trouble to mix it in a wet mash. One dewormer stocked by most feed stores, and effective on all worms is Valbazen...

    Very pale comb and skin?

Anemic conditions arise when blood is deficient in red blood cells. The face gets pale, they lack energy, and lose weight. If the condition continues the bird will eventually die. Red blood cells are made from iron, B-12, protein, etc. Red blood cells transport oxygen and carbon dioxide from the...

Can maggots survive if there is no cut or wound?

This thread is just another instance of proving my point that some people shouldn't own animals. I'm sorry you neglected your rooster, but you received an egg from a hen. I guess what you wanted mattered more. Perhaps you may be in the rooster's position some day. You'll be left in a...

Can maggots survive if there is no cut or wound?

Do what I told you to do! Flush the vent out with an enema until you see no maggots expelled. If a wound outside the vent is harboring maggots, spray it with the screw worm aerosol I mentioned. Use a shower spray to flush out the area infested. If it is not too late, the bird will recover.

Can maggots survive if there is no cut or wound?

This article is informative about roosts: http://www.yourchickens.co.uk/care-and-advice/the_perfect_perch_1_2842822 2x2 or 2x4 wood roosts turned 2" side up work well, provided the corners are filed down and sanded well to prevent splinters from birds shuffling around on roosts. For LF, I set...

Can maggots survive if there is no cut or wound?

I'm suspecting roost problems here. I've experimented with different sizes and shapes of roosts over the years and heights of them. I've even read studies about roosts. Birds put more weight on the keel (breast) bone than on foot pads when roosting. Too narrow a roost can create abrasions in...

Will maggost die if they are left in a chickens butt?

You should use an enema to flush out the vent. Any sores outside the vent need to be watched until they heal to avoid this from happening again. You can trim some feathers around the vent if needed to prevent droppings from accumulating. Give a light spritz of permethrin or Ravap around the vent...
