DUCK EGG HATCHING! SHOULD I ASSIST?

I had one do that same thing. Just a hole. It died overnight. The second night. After that we started rescue operation . It should be making some progress, cracking....chipping along the zip line. Id keep a close eye...are the others doing ok?

DUCK EGG HATCHING! SHOULD I ASSIST?

FYI...you can encourage the chick with talk. Mama hen usually does...your mama now. It really can make a difference. They try harder when they hear you rooting for them.

DUCK EGG HATCHING! SHOULD I ASSIST?

I would help or it could die, lost a couple that way myself. But if you help you may have to fix the feet so they aren't club footed. Its easy fix but you gotta do it like almost right away. Incubators tend to dry out the membrane and they can't break through. Gets rubbery.

    Duck was attacked

Keep it quiet will help her stress. Give her some TLC. Some treats, extra attention can make a difference. Protein. Clean water. Some spinach in the water bowl. Pamper her. Sometimes they just need some TLC to pull through. And indoors for sure! And cage where she can't move too much. Keep...

Soo sad! Predator advice plz. Graffic caution.

So my two pet mallard ducks were killed this am in my back yard. My security cam shows a fast moving animal like a coon or medium size dog? The ducks were skinned in head and breast eaten. The boy really rallied to her defense but he was brutalized badly. His entire neck was skinned. Horrible...
