Mama Hatched out 5 Chickens and Left The Other Eggs - I Don't Have An Incubator

Unfortunately, without an incubator it would be almost impossible to manage the correct humidity and temperature. If the temp and humidity are not just right, the chick won't develop correctly. I hate to say it, but if you don't have another broody hen or know someone who has an incubator, I...

My hen is brooding ghost eggs....I think! New Pics!

Sad to say that none of her eggs hatched...the dry humidity in my house was too much for her to overcome. She's not broody any longer so I can't even give her any of my barnie chicks due to hatch this Friday. I feel bad for her with all the work she did.

My hen is brooding ghost eggs....I think! New Pics!

Well....this Sunday is 21 days since I gave my Broody Frazzle 2 LF Barred Rock eggs to hatch. She was too small for anymore than that. She's still hard at work sitting on the eggs. In fact, today is the 3rd day in a row she's refused to leave the nest at all. I'm starting to worry about...

My hen is brooding ghost eggs....I think! New Pics!

BigDaddy'sGurl : We expect pics when her little, or big , ones hatch! You got it...in fact, I was just thinking to post a picture of her now. Be prepared...I think she's the ugliest chicken on the face of the earth. It's not her fault...she's a hatchery 'frazzle'....if the frizzle gene...

My hen is brooding ghost eggs....I think! New Pics!

Quote: Answered my own question....she can only handle 2 LF eggs. I tried to give her 3, but she can't keep them covered. So, 2 it is...it's comical, but she seems happy!
