i forgot to say mine was battery operated and that it had a cord for the temp sencor,so you have a egg turner also?i'm mainly worried about it binding up while laying on top of the turner
i have a little giant incubator w/fan and turner and i'm wanting to place a Digital Thermometer/ Hygrometer in side the bator.the instructions say to place the whole unit inside the bator.i'm only placeing 12 eggs in .do i just set the hydrometer on top of the turner to the side of the eggs and...
i have 2 RIR hens that have been laying just fine for 6 months,now one has started droping her eggs at various places around the yard and they are not developed completely the shells are very thin.what could be the cause of this?

we got the Little Giant incubator from Tractor Supply and bought the egg turnner also,both for around $85.00 total.and just had our first chick hatch at 4:00 this afternoon!
we just had our first chick to hatch this afternoon.4:00 ET +\\- it still has a part of the shell attached to its backside 3.5 hrs later ,should i just let it work it out?if so how long should i allow before i remove it?

this is the first chickens we have ever had .we have 5 RIR's about 4 1/2 to 5 months old and it appears that we have 2 for sure and most likely 3 roo's.we got them all at the same time when they were chicks. we realy like coming home from work and letting the chickens out to play and run around...
