    Adding 6 chicks

Hi, haven’t been here in awhile... anyway, I have four hens that I got last March. This year, I decided to get 6 more chicks, which are about 6 weeks old right now. I finally got my run all secured for them so yesterday, they finally got to come outside. Spent all day out. Everything is going...

Lol, was in my kitchen this evening and heard her fly up. Looked out, happened to have my phone on my belt clip, and got a great picture. Hahaha

    possible egg binding

Yes, they are young; 22 weeks or so. She was the first one of the flock to lay, and besides my leghorn, was the most consistent. Now she’s not laying, and if she does, softshells. Maybe the egg bind threw her system off lol. I’m just curious.

    possible egg binding

one of my rhode island reds was acting a little odd last night, and when I got home from work today, still acting odd. So I began to investigate. Not moving around much. She just stood in one spot for probably 15 ninutes while the others roamed. Then she sat on the perch in the run all by...

    Getting them used to outside

I'm not sure if this will answer all of your questions, but I raised my first batch of hens this spring and as of right now, they are doing outstanding. I had my coop finished when I got my chicks. It was in the 20's 30's and 40's for the first month or so I had them. I put them right in the...
