    What could this lump be?

My welsh harlequin is 6 months old. Do you see the bulge in her belly? Any ideas what it might be? Surely not an egg? Shes acting fine. Other than the boys being boys to her in the water.

    What breed(s) should I get?

I got 2 ducklings from tractor supply that ended up both being khaki campbell drakes. I really want some eggs, so I want to get some females. Can I mix the breeds now? I want super friendly duck breeds that lay a decent amount of eggs. More importantly is the friendliness. Was thinking Magpie...

    What in the DUCK!?

I’m so confused. I have 2 6 or 7 week old khaki Campbells. I think. I went on vacation for a week and came back see that one of them has new colors on their wings like a Rouen has. It’s black, not blue. The other one doesn’t have any colors at all other than brown. Take a look and let me know...

Tips for moving from brooder to coop

What are some tips/tricks for moving ducklings from in the house, in their brooder, to outside in their coop/run? Just keep putting them in or it a little each day? They FREAK OUT when I leave them. Example: today I put them in their run and hung out with them for like 45 minutes then went back...

    In the brooder

I haven’t finished securing it, but plan to make sure nothing can fit under it or through it by using a layer of hardware cloth in addition to the wire that’s on it already and burying some of the hardware cloth underground. It’s 67 out right now at 1am so I guess night temps are a little chilly...

    In the brooder

My khaki Campbell ducklings are 2 weeks old, currently living in a plastic tote. They have a caged area and a coop outside (pics below) but haven’t been in it yet. When can they be done with this plastic tote and live outside? I'm in western PA where the temps are in the 80s/90s.
