    Chickens Still Thirsty

My ladies can't seem to figure out the nipple waterer! They were crazy thirsty & stopped laying...I had to give them back the galvanized waterers after just a few hours. Can't have thirsty ladies, can we?

    How do you transport chickens?

I ended up up dog carriers as well! Lined the bottom with doggie potty pads & put pine on top. Worked very well.

Netting to cover top of chicken run

My netting always collapses under heavy snow. I'm going to build a pergola over the run & am thinking of replacing the netting with trellis slats.

A friend of mine picked up 6 straight run chicks & they are all Roos!!! He is looking to rehome. About 2 months old: 2 Buff Orps, 2 Arucanas, 2 Red Rangers. He is a few minutes south of the WI border in NE Illinois.

I think the dog...

    How do you transport chickens?

Hi there from a newbie. I have had my 14 lovely ladies for about 2 years now & we might have to transport them about 16 hours cross-country. We will probably use a livestock service to move our horses & goats, so I am wondering if I could put them in several dog crates as long as they were...
