Oh! I was so confused because they look so much like Embdens, but so tiny compared to what you see on websites. That totally makes sense now though! Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks for responding! They do look like those! But they are much smaller than what websites say those breeds weigh, Embdens are supposedly 20-30lbs, and Pomeranians 16-24lbs. The grey/white one is one of the largest ones, and she is only 9lbs. Maybe there is more variance in weight than Google...
Wow, many breeds I had never even heard of on Feathersite - thanks for that link! Great resource. Every time I think I know what breed they are, something seems to rule it out lol. They do really look like Embdens, but they are so much smaller. Maybe the white ones are Romans without the tuft...
Thanks for the response! That was what I thought too, but then I discovered that some of the pure white ones are females. Don't female Pilgrams always have some grey feathers due to the auto-sexing/dimorphic trait?
Thanks for the help!! Are you sure the white ones are Embdens? They are pretty small, some of them I would guess are no more than 8lbs and I thought Embdens were pretty large (20-30lbs?) but I am definitely no expert!
Here are some better pictures of her bill. It had not occured to me that she...
They are all white except one with patches of grey. That one is a female and she weighs 9lbs. She is one of the larger ones, so they are pretty small geese - not much bigger than Canada geese. There are both males and females that are pure white, so I guess it is not an auto-sexing breed?
Any...

We're not sure... the vet didn't think it was a predator, but that she perhaps somehow impaled herself with something. The wound is as deep/big as a tennis ball, infected and was becoming necrotic when we first brought her in, so she sure is a fighter! Very lucky that it didn't make it to her...
Thanks! I haven't tried dandelion or clover yet for her because they aren't in season and it doesn't look like you can buy them anywhere but I'm growing some for her in my window. I think she is too scared to try anything new, so I'm hoping those will be more familiar!
Yep I'm pretty sure she must be a dumped domestic. I don't know much about geese or birds so I am very glad to hear you like the Nutri drench! She had a checkup at the vet yesterday and they said that her wound is looking really good and that the outlook is "cautiously optimistic"... 9 days ago...
Hi!
I am caring for a domestic goose with a very large infected wound. She just finished her antibiotics, Baytril. She is not my goose, she lives at a local public pond, so this is all very new and stressful for her. Vet said that she must stay in house right now, so that's where she is.
While...
This is Day 19, I took this while we were misting and cooling. This is my first time incubating, so I don't really know what I'm looking at, but doesn't that look like the gosling's beak and head, pecking at the shell?
If that is what it is, is it okay that he's already pecking at it...
I thought maybe some YouTube videos for happy goose noises would make her feel better. She didn't seem too interested (just a little) so without thinking, I played one of her flock, figuring that I know these noises mean they're happy. Her body language immediately changed and she actually...
Hi,
I made this post a couple days ago: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/female-goose-is-lethargic-wont-walk-unresponsive-please-help.1298873/
Yesterday evening, she really just wasn't looking right. I noticed what I thought was an egg protruding from her belly, so I ran to Walmart to...
