    What's the temperature where you are???

    I'm in NWArkansas this morning it was -8° it finally warmed up to 16° Our water is frozen and I have resulted to giving the chickens snow. They seem happy with it. Along with hot oatmeal mixed with their feed.

    How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

    I had 7 eggs this afternoon when I checked the nesting boxes. There was 1 more in the box when I locked them up. I'm very confused because I get our eggs everyday and I only have 5 hens..... How is it possible I got 8 eggs today?

    My beautiful cuckoo maran. She is such a drama queen! Her first egg was a 2+ hour production. With both roosters in the coop with her! And a hen coming to check on and sooth her. Eventually she laid an egg. She only lays when she feels like it though. I'm lucky if its once a week. My other 2...

    My chickens are not interested in pumpkin at all. One of the roosters checked it out but they only nibbled it. Haven't touched it.

    Yay! First egg was Friday!

    I'm so eggsited! So I'm a first time chicken mom and I found my first egg in the nesting box Friday! My production red Daphne turned out to be the layer. She has layed 3 so far. None today. But my cuckoo maran "Oreo" and my swedish flower "Coco" were in the nesting area and made their own nests...

    Oh that's awful. Normally I would rather someone in need eat the eggs then a predator. But stealing to resale is terrible. Cameras are worth the cost I suppose.

    This was Miranda's matching Rooster Shadow. He was all black as a chick. He's a good rooster. I'm glad he made it!

    I'm pretty sure she's female. That was just an odd angle I guess. And figured out who did it. Took my dog out with me this afternoon. The roosters called to the hens and they all scattered into the bushes. 😥 Then she chased them! Luckily she stopped when I screamed at her!! I thought I unleashed...

    It was a very sad and disappointing day. I had my first attack. I know, I know it's the first of many. My second favorite hen was killed. She was my biggest and probably would of started laying eggs first. Such a sweet girl. Poor Brownie my stupid silkie rooster that I actually mentioned...
