keeping khaki campbells with muscovies or other breeds?

Thank you! I plan to get 4-6 females. I am just worried that me aggressive campbells (they seem aggressive to me) will be too much for the scovies ... I have read they are slow on the ground.

keeping khaki campbells with muscovies or other breeds?

Hello!! I have two khaki campbell drakes who seem pretty aggressive towards each other (always pulling at each other's feathers & one chasing the other around ... year round!). I am thinking that if I get 3 or 4 female ducks for them, things might be better. Someone in my town is selling female...

Drake pair constantly pulling each other's feathers - anything I can do?

Thanks for the "enrichment" ideas! They have a large yard & wooded areas to roam in, along with a small pond that comes & goes with wet & dry periods ... but perhaps they need something more. @gal5150 - They are about a year and a half (getting ready to go into their second winter). How long...

Drake pair constantly pulling each other's feathers - anything I can do?

I read in another thread here that usually all-drake flocks can work nicely, but this pair clearly is not. I had been thinking of...

Can ducks take below 0F temps at night?

Thanks, everyone! I'm going to see if I can even find straw bales for sale around here & use them around the duck house .... I'm thinking I can always use them for bedding or mulch later too (if they don't get moldy come spring ...). Either way, I'll put a nice thick bed of straw in their house...

Can ducks take below 0F temps at night?

I have seen a thread or two on ducks & cold, but not about cold below 0F (apologies if there is one out there & I haven't found it yet!). I have 2 khaki campbell ducks who sleep in an uninsulated plywood house w/a small open door under our chicken coop. We give them straw (which the chickens...

Best pre-fab coops for northern New England/Canada?

Hi everyone - I'm looking around at pre-fab coops for my father, who is looking to have a small flock (3-4) in his backyard outside of Montreal (very long, cold winters!). I've not seen anything insulated yet -- anyone have a recommendation? He does not want to build one (he's really getting...
