Moving to the desert, any advice regarding coop construction?

Hi all! Long time no post, we just purchased a home in the high desert (yucca valley) we will be moving our flock of 6 over. There are lots of predators so I am a tad concerned on building the coop. I’m also wanting to get some chickens and I’m assuming I should build them their own little...

Introducing ducklings to adult ducks help!

Hey friends small update I’m rehoming all 4- but they are open to me taking back the Cayuga once she’s older. Any ideas of when a good age would be for her to come back? We are also wanting to redo the coop so the ducks can roam the yard when we are outside more

Introducing ducklings to adult ducks help!

I’m going to try this week, if it seems not ideal I may have to consider rehoming all ducklings. The Cayuga was such a shock it would be hard to let her go. I’m sure it will work itself out, my ducks were being picked on by the new/older ducks and they worked it out.

The total space is large but we have predators so I’m a tad worried about them in my backyard. Maybe I’ll have to do supervised visits with everyone roaming and see how that plays out. They are our egg supply and I do love my girls but I may rehome them if they continue to be a problem. I think...

They are loud and mean to other animals and ducks I don’t see them not picking on the babies for a long while would you say babies at 1-2 months can protect themselves more...

    Confirmation of bumblefoot.....?

I cured my bumblefoot on three ducks thanks to this form. I would first make sure the environment is sanitary (vet suggested that to me) we did antibiotics and epsom soaks. It wasn’t easy. I also used colloidal silver and wrapped their feet (vet gave me it). Mine was worse then what yours looked...

    Year long bumblefoot

So I have ducks and I had an issue with bumble foot and used the silver cream on the ducks feet as well and cured the bumble foot in about a month. We also switched to Astro turf so it’s more sanitary
