Just finished hatching 119 coturnix quail yesterday and I am already looking for more eggs to set. Everyone knows an empty incubator is NOT a happy incubator.
I second the night shift worker. I work 6pm to 6am, so on my days off I'm on BYC in the wee hours of the night and morning. What a great way to spend those hours when the rest of the family are asleep but I am still wide awake.
Just ran out to check here in Ohio, Cloudy with fog rolling in. I guess I won't get to see the lights tonight . It wasn't a total waste. I checked on the quail eggs in the bator and got to listen to a pair of screech owls calling back and forth to each other on my way back to the house .
Anyone else in the Ohio area make it to "Rock on the Range" this year? Godsmack and Bullet for My Valentine were great and you have to love Slash, but Rob Zombie really tore the place up. "Sick Bubblegum" and "Mars needs Women"were just awesome!!!!!! So many great bands in one place.
Welcome New Hatcher!!! And good luck on the hatch. It feels like an eternity waiting for those first chicks to hatch. But it sure is worth it when you take that first batch of fuzz balls out of the incubator.
