    This morning a Brahma rooster was abandoned in our yard. As sad as it is we are unable to house him as our hens are not fond of him. He is a beautiful boy who needs a good home.     How can I keep my brooder from reeking

    I have linoleum on the floor & deep straw. I still get the ammonia smell. I heard pine shavings, is that true? When we had only 4 ladies it wasn’t a problem. Now we have 10 wonderful ladies so I guess it’s only natural for it to smell?

    I forgot to mention the healthy chicken layer crumble that I feed them daily-sorry!! Nobody should live on treats-too bad tho!! I could live on brownies & cupcakes if it was possible!! Lol

    Yes I have 2 Buffs & they are identical & did not get any kind of comb until they were 3 or 4 months. So cute though!! Don't tell Da-see how long it takes them to figure it out themselves-LOL

    I love this!! I came here today with a question & it's answered within a few minutes of reading! Thanks for sharing!! Now I know to use the 20% crumble. My one old bird doesn't lay any more so I won't bother with too much calcium. This place is the best!
