Thanks for the responses
For now if I need to tend to anything I hold her in one hand and have use of the other. It is a pain but it stops her from pecking. She is very calm while being held.
I will start "nipping" back at her and shooing her. Hopefully she might get it
Thanks
Kat
Everytime I am at the brooder there is 1 particular chick, I think she is a Delaware, that not just pecks at me any chance she gets, but she is actually grabbing hold and a few times it hurt!
I have named her "Dinner", because if she keeps this up, that is what she will end up as

How do you enter in pics of the week anyways?
That was my next question...how do I submit for pic of the week?
Cowchick is interested in a modeling career...and NO I am not trying to live vicariously through my peep

I would probably go with an Austrolorp if I had to pick.
I am new to chicks and ordered a variety including, Red Stars, Barred Rocks, Black Austrolorps, Buff Orpingtons, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Araucanas, White Rocks, Delawares and of course my free rare chick.
I know for sure a few I can...
I'd be interested in going, but would like some more info on it.
Does anyone have the number or the email addy to the person in charge of the swap meet?
Thanks,
Kat
