Hoping someone can give me some positive news. I checked my incubator last night before going to bed and it was spot on 99.5. When I got up this morning it was at 96.7!!! I have no idea how long it was that cold since it had been hours since I checked it (while I slept). Everything I've ever...
My blue Orpington has hers for a couple weeks. She's completely healthy and active in every other way. She eats, drinks and lays just fine. From what I've read it's common in the breed and not a lot can be done.
He was up and walking a bit more yesterday. He ate a bit of squash and sunflower seeds but still seems out of it. Sleeping a lot. And his comb is looking purpleish. I posted on another thread and someone said that yes they can get sick from stress. I'll just keep babying him until he's better or...
Thank you! He's starting to walk around a bit. Still doesn't seem to be eating much but he pecked at some squash and sunflower seeds yesterday. I'm just happy he has his eyes open! He may have saved himself from the butcher block because he's so sweet.
I have yet to find a satisfactory answer to a question I have. I have a 5 month old buff brahama rooster that got out of the run some how last weekend in the middle of the night. He must have come down to the house because of the porch light which is right under our bed room window. We heard him...

I'm glad so many people have had success with MPC. They're very friendly and I love that they care for their chickens. My only fault with them was that so many were not breed standard size. I have purchased buff orpingtons from them before and they were the proper size. It was just surprising...
Just want to say, after only a week, I see pin feathers starting!! The biggest wound has closed significantly! I had no idea they would heal so fast and I'm so happy. Thank you all for the encouragement! I'll post a pic when they're fully feathered again.
Wow!! What a beauty! So glad he's ok. Thank you for giving me the hope I needed. I was really afraid they would never get feathers again and forever be pecked at by the others.
I've made them scrambled eggs a few days in a row and started mixing their feed in it today. I really want to get them outside in the sunshine but I'm afraid of fly strike. Do you think the skin will grow back over the one??? You can see her tail bone. :hit
Here they are. The one that has the worst injury is actually the most active and vocal. The other hen is a lot smaller though and she had a rough start.
They're starting to perk up a bit. They're eating but not very much. I gave them honey water to keep their energy up and it's starting to scab over. I'll get a picture of their tails posted. They're still hopping around but they still look like they're in pain. This is what I've been using 3...
