    Whiting True Blue info

My True Blue Whitings were 5 months old yesterday, and I got my first blue egg today -- a pale light blue. I agree with most of you regarding the temperament of these birds -- they have crazy wild personalities. I won't be getting any more.

    True Blue Whiting info please?

If this is how they'll be laying, I don't think I'll be getting any next year.

    True Blue Whiting info please?

I need info please: a friend & I went together & ordered 16 TBW's from McMurray hatchery that were hatched on June 1. I kept 6 -- my friend kept 10. One of my 6 turned out to be a roo, but my friend called me today to let me know that she found a little light brown egg, on the ground, in the...

    Whiting True Blue info

I purchased some True Blue Whitings from McMurray hatchery that were hatched on June 1, so they are just now 3 months old. Ordered 16 with a friend & I kept 6 of them. One of my 6, I am positive is a rooster (supposed to be all pullets). I have several questions, if someone who has had theirs...

    True Blue Whiting info please?

I'm expecting a shipment of 16 True Blues from Murray McMurray hatchery, they should be here first thing tomorrow morning. They looked interesting so a friend & I ordered together. I've had leghorns in the past and yes, I know they can be flighty, but boy do they lay like crazy. I'm looking...

I just saw this post -- I have been absent from this site for quite sometime. How are your mom & babies doing? It's kinda hard when you have mom w/babies & full grown hens. Hope they're all doing well!

Welcome from Great Falls! Glad you got your babies and they are doing well. Sounds like they have a nice selection -- best of luck with them! They're so much fun to raise ! You may get lucky & find a few nice laying hens on Craigslist for sale, or in your local paper. Be careful, as...

One of my BO's decided to go broody, so I've moved her into a good sized pen in the garage, sitting on 12 eggs. Just finished getting her settled, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well!

I've been thinking more and more, over the weekend, of when/if/(how many) new chicks I want to get this spring. I was going to order online from a hatchery but I've never done that before --- I wonder how they would survive an airplane ride in this cold. So I called North Outfitters/Big R &...

Glad her swelling is gone & sounds like she's doing better. I was just reading an article here on BYC about "My baby chicks are making me sick" -- about keeping chicks in the house with all the dander, and I imagine it'd be the same if you kept a hen inside the house...... I use a Swiffer...

If you have a place to keep her that is out of the way -- like in the basement or someplace like that. If you or your family don't have issues with the "chicken odor" being so close by! Sounds like she is wanting to set, but you could break her of it. Some people have hens that are a...

Just be careful about letting her set when this weather is still so crazy --- even with a good mama, I'd be afraid to let eggs hatch this time of year. But that's me.
