    I have 4 chicks right now but I believe 2 of them are cockerels and I’ll have to get rid of them. I want to get a couple more pullets to go with the ones I already have but what would be the best thing to do? Should I go ahead and get them now or wait? Should I get chicks that are ~the same age...

    I've been thinking Minerva was a Midas, too. Dang it. :lol: I wanted 4 hens and at this rate I'll hopefully have 2!!!

    Oh good. After looking at the links Chicken Canoe posted I'm really glad he isn't a Cornish! I know they have their purpose but it just looks so painful to me!

    I'm curious whether these are cockerels or pullets. They're about 5-6 weeks now. There are 3 pics of Minerva/Midas (lol) and 2 of Obsidian (who turned out not to be particularly 'obsidian'). 🤷 Also, I'm pretty sure all my chicks are barnyard mixes but was just wondering what you guys think...

    It may well be a mix of something, but I'm curious as I'm finding out CC's don't live long. The first pic was when he (now named Theo lol) was about 3 weeks. The second one is this week but it's harder to see - sorry. He's a lot bigger than my other three chicks, but they aren't all the same...

    Thanks! I think they are mixes, too. I'll be so sad if the brown one is a cockerel! I think it's so pretty but I can't have roosters. :/

    Hi! I just got 4 chicks back in April. They're all about 5 weeks old now and I'm trying to figure out if they are cockerels/pullets and also trying to guess what breed each may be. I'm pretty sure the one is a leghorn and a cockerel. Other than that, no clue!! Thanks!
