These are the first time we have raised babies. They are mixed breeds. The first one that's Grey black I'm pretty sure is a boy.. but unsure about the black one with white chest and the remaining 4 that are 2 brown 1 white and 1 cream in color ?

We had mites in the flock a few weeks back and treated with pestene powder. We separated a broody hen with 10 eggs a week last week and I have just noticed the 2 day old chicks have red mites on them..and I'm not sure how to treat them.

Any photos of some easy clean and easy to make nesting boxes would be appreciated. I need some Ideas to keep them off the ground as we do get snakes and I need to be able to make sure the snakes...
Since I bought the brown pullet yesterday who is within 1 week old of the 3 roos/hens in question u can really see a difference in their comb size.

They are roughly 18 weeks..The black and blue birds tail feathers appear to be plucked ... The blue bird literally has a naked but ... The black one has only 1 feather.
As I bought them as a group of 4 it's only these 4 that jump and and down and chest bump and flair their necks... none of my...
Ok so here is 2 more of the suspect black one as u can see he only one tail feather from under neath
This white one is a massive bird with huge feet but it's crest isn't very red .... see pic of it with isa brown pullet and it's ment to be younger then the pullet
I will get some more pics tommorow :) I'm pretty sure that the black ones longer feathers were plucked by the older chooks and the white one is double the size if most of my full grown austrolop and my isa browns it's biggggggg huge feet
