My husband gave them to me as a gift. I think he ordered them from Feather lover farms.

@auroradream26 Thanks. Yours look great too! What exactly is considered leakage? Is that when you can see red in the comb? Or different color feathers?

Chicken Breed Focus - Ayam Cemani

I am raising my first batch of Ayam cemani chickens. They are now 9 weeks old and looking good. They are very active and fast growers compared to my lavender orpingtons. They are skittish but also very curious. It's looking like I ended up with 2 cockerels and 4 pullets. I look forward to when...

Hello! First time chicken owner in Texas!

Help!! One of my cockerels was chirping different than usual. I listened to his lungs and they are very congested. Still eating/drinking. No discharge. Not acting sick. But I can hear a lot of congestion. I already separated him from the rest of the flock. Any suggestions?!?! I'm so sad, he is...

Few more pics of my babies. If the markings are right I have 4 roosters :/ I will start looking for homes for at least two of them. I don't think I have room for 4 roosters!

Here are two of my new lavender orpingtons. I bought a straight run but when I got them some had purple dots on their heads. I'm thinking they are actually sexed. They are 2-3 weeks old right now and these two are an example of one marked purple and the one in the back is not. Do they look like...

Hello! First time chicken owner in Texas!

Thank you! I hope to get them outside soon. My area has been hit with a lot of rain lately and we are all flooded. But I am glad to hear that the soil in their own is was a good idea. Thank you:)

Hello! First time chicken owner in Texas!

Thank you for the warm welcome! Here are my babies in their temporary pen. I was worried about them getting bored (I read they could start pecking at each other) so I gave them some organic garden soil and a square of grass to scratch around in. They really seem to enjoy it.
