Thanks. Yours look great too! What exactly is considered leakage? Is that when you can see red in the comb? Or different color feathers?
I am raising my first batch of Ayam cemani chickens. They are now 9 weeks old and looking good.
They are very active and fast growers compared to my lavender orpingtons. They are skittish but also very curious. It's looking like I ended up with 2 cockerels and 4 pullets. I look forward to when...
Thank you for your quick reply. I am desperate for advice.
No new birds. Yes, all of them came from the same place. They are 4 week old Lavender Orpingtons.
It has been very hot here, the temp during the day stays In the 90's. I recently moved them from their small brooding pen in my garage...

I just read your story. I hope all your chicks are doing good. I just got 10 lavender orpington chicks. They are my first chickens. I like seeing your pics, gives me something to look forward to!
Few more pics of my babies. If the markings are right I have 4 roosters :/ I will start looking for homes for at least two of them. I don't think I have room for 4 roosters!
Here are two of my new lavender orpingtons. I bought a straight run but when I got them some had purple dots on their heads. I'm thinking they are actually sexed. They are 2-3 weeks old right now and these two are an example of one marked purple and the one in the back is not. Do they look like...
Thank you! I hope to get them outside soon. My area has been hit with a lot of rain lately and we are all flooded. But I am glad to hear that the soil in their own is was a good idea. Thank you:)
Thank you for the warm welcome! Here are my babies in their temporary pen. I was worried about them getting bored (I read they could start pecking at each other) so I gave them some organic garden soil and a square of grass to scratch around in. They really seem to enjoy it.
