Thanks Alex, I'm hoping the last one is an Amerucana I'm going to get a better pic to post, I'm pretty sure it's a pullet.Guess I will know for sure when she( if it is a she) lays, I'm sure hoping for a nice blue egg...lol!!
I did purchase some chicks this spring, some ameraucanas, EE's and 3 cream legbars, none are laying yet. The EEs are 22 weeks old now so hopefully will start soon, the others are a month or more younger. I'm hoping by fall my egg production is back up! Thanks for your reply!!
Hi, I also have red sex link hens that are soon 2.5 years old. Some are not laying at all, out of 9 hens we get 3-4 eggs a day on average. How long did your red sex link hens live? Ours have turned into pets, so I will be keeping them til they die of old age...just wandering how long that will...
Thanks, I was pretty sure they where EEs, but I was really hoping they where pullets I purchased 5, day old chicks and end up with 4 cockerels.....what r the chances? Oh, well not much I can do. Thanks again!!
Hi,The lady I purchased these chicks from told me they were Ameracanas, but now that they are 12 weeks I'm thinking EE's!! What do you think? Also can anyone tell me if they are pullets or cockerels? I was thinking cockerels by looking at them but, they are acting more like pullets, so I just...
Wow!! What are the chances eh I do have one that I m wondering about tho, Hoping it might be a pullet, im going to wait a couple more weeks, it will be 12 weeks old, and post more pics I appreciate any feedback, thanks
Is your white one a roo or a hen do you know yet? I'm guessing I have 4 roo's and only 1 hen, if that's the case I'm going to have to get rid of 3 roo's I love mine too, they are so friendly and pretty
Do you think I should just leave her then? I have some chicks that I hatched in the incubator, they are 1 week old. Do you think I could possibly do a switch, take the egg and leave her a chick? I also have a roo and a hen with a week old chick in the same coop. Would they hurt the new chick if I...
Hi, I have a Silkie sitting on 1 egg (I was collecting them, then noticed she had gone broody) She has been sitting on it for almost 4 weeks Should I take it away or will she decide for herself it isn't going to hatch and abandon it? Please help!! Thanks :)
Do you have any advice on how and when to move them into the coop with my existing flock? They are outside in a run in the daytime and at night I put them in the barn, but I would like to put them in the coop ASAP! Thanks for your help
The black one and the brown one both have muffs, so could those be ameraucanas? This is my first time having this breed, I've only had red sex link til now, so I appreciate any pointers I can get!!
Thanks for the warm welcome It would be great if they are all pullets. I was just out to the coop and heard one of them trying to crow, but I hear that even pullets will try that when they are young. I'll keep you posted
