In Missoula, MT at Quality Supply the straight run cornish cross are $1.50 each and they are the week old. We have 30 right now under the lamp and growing plump! We will slaughter them at 10 weeks, last we had a batch we did at 8 weeks, not as big as we wanted though, they we around 61/2 lbs...

I was anxiously awaiting for my 8 hens to start laying eggs, and said as much to an older couple I had just met, and the husband said " well you better get a rooster to get things started"!!! hahahah, they really thought you need a rooster for the hens to lay eggs. : yiipchick
hahaha, yes this is really true! I never thought I would love my girls as much as I do! Mine started laying last week, I was so excited, I told as many people in our little town, they mostly laughed and probably thought I was weird. oh well! I'm thrilled
I am new on here as of today! I have 8 hens, 4 Barred Rock and 4 Golden comets, I love these girls!! They just started laying this week, and we are really enjoying the brown eggs they lay. Loving life in Montana and raising my 3 great kids.
