    Thank you for the replay's. I did see sudden death syndrome. I am thinking that is what happen. The hens are laying fine but i will watch the closely. He was a great rooster. Not sure if I will get another one. Thank You both.

    Today I found my rooster dead under its roost. It was fine yesterday and all my hens are ok. No marks on him. Could of he had fallen off and broke neck? Vary strange. Any clues?

    What to feed?

    I have 4 rhode Island hens that are 6 months old and laying. I have 14 week old Americana hens not laying and 4 barred rock that are 10 weeks old all in the same spot. What and how should I feed them?

    I got 6 white plymouth rock chicks 10 weeks ago from tractor supply co. and they all still look the same. I see post on here that it is hard to tell the rosters from the hens. Any help out there? I could post pictures but i would not know which one is which after. they all look exactly alike...

    Coop size

    The run will be the 10x10 kennel with a nesting box. Chickens will have free roam at all times. I will cover top with chicken wire and floor of run with goat fence. I will have to make 1/3 of run under roof. Was not sure if nestting box? size was ok. Thank You.

    I want to build a coop with a 10' x 10' dog kennel. I want to build a roosting box on the out side of this 8' long but only 2' wide and 4' high. I will put a roost 12" off floor. floor is 2' off of ground. roost will run 8' long ways. I want to keep dual purpose birds in this to 12 weeks of age...

    I put the 4 week chickens out in the pen. I have a heat lamp in roost and can keep temps nice and warm. but it is going to get cold again and i might have to close door to the run over night. will i have to move water and food in to the roost or just water? what temp should i be shooting for at...
