    Sexing - A Rooster in the hen House???

    I think my 12 week old barred rock is possibly a boy. I will post a picture when I can figure out how to do so. The rock is developing a red comb and wattle; and is very aggressive, chasing the girls around the coop constantly. How can I tell the sex? Thanks, Matt

    We have young kids and are preparing to get three hens. I want both groups to roam around the yard - is this advisable? How does chicken poop in sand boxes go over? I would hate to get chickens and feel required to keep them in the coop 99% of the time...ANY IDEAS?
