Hi there
I'm building my permanent coop and wonder if I need to insulate it. I live in the Greater Vancouver, BC area and it seldom gets to freezing here. The coop will be in a protected area between 2 unheated buildings also, if that is a consideration.
Thanks
Mary-Anne and the girls.
Hi all
I'm wondering about the practicality of this. I have 3' wide area beside my garage that I would like to turn into a run. Right now it is just weeds. (blackberries and others) I want to build the coop up on stilts between 2 buildings and have the run in that area between the garage...
I have neighbours with chickens and all my neighbours know and approve of my chickens, so I'm not worried about them saying anything, but I worry about others.
Hi All...
Newbie from Vancouver, BC here.. I just got my chicks yesterday. I know I've already made some mistakes.. hopefully I can fix them.
Look forward to meeting you all.
I will admit to being nervous about the size, but they say it will hold 5-6 chickens and based on calculations from a thread on here, it seems big enough for the 3 of them.
Hope all goes well.
Mary-Anne
Sorry about that.. Here is a link to the same one on this site.. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/birddawgs-chicken-coop-tractor
We are above freezing now.. so say low 40's..
Hello all
I'm picking up 3 chicks on Friday that will be about a month old. I'm building an a-frame movable coop based on this design http://www.organicgardening.com/sites/all/themes/zen/og/pdf/coop_plans.pdf I'm hoping that this will be enough space for my chickens and will move them...
thank you all for the warm welcome. I have decided which coop to build and now need to get the stuff required. :)
I'm very excited about this new endeavour and look forward to learning from you all.
I am getting 3 light sussex hens and I think they will give me great pleasure and some...
