Right?! Super weird! We took another look and it doesn’t seem swollen it’s just like the entire right side is dropping/ sagging including the skin under her eye. Here’s these pics, this first one sorta shows her other eye and shows that it’s not saggy.. I’ll try taking a pic of the other side...
Hi everyone! I could use some help. Our 6 year old Blue Cochin hen has had a droopy eye for over a month now. It’s the right eye only. She is from a hatchery so she is very old considering most hatchery hens don’t make it to 10. She 1/2 of our last hens from our very first batch. Other than the...
Just inspected her and got more photos. She’s 3 years old has been laying for awhile now. Will the oil still be okay to put on her even though it’s super cold out? I just
Worry about her getting a cold or frostbite. Here’s those photos you asked for :)
Well she’s still alive guys and the swelling has gone down completely, she’s eating her regular chicken food now. It seems her one foot/leg is still not completely working. She’s been trying to walk and has been able to push herself up to a semi standing position when laying down but since that...
Today I was out with my hens and noticed our 3 year old buff Orpington hens legs and feet were very red. It’s only snowed once here so far this winter and melted mostly later that day. There’s no snow currently. Oh and there’s bubbly scale on the back of her leg if you look at the last photo I...
Well it’s been two months almost three since this all started. She’s still alive. Since starting the sling that was suggested she’s been eating like a regular chicken again! I thought I should post pictures of the sling we made for her to sit in to help her out so others can use our version of...
Hey she’s still sticking around we tried out your idea and she’s finally eating a lot again first day in one of these and she ate a bunch of grapes, scrambled eggs, blueberries, raspberries, corn, cheese, and chicken feed!! She hasn’t eaten her chicken feed since before she got the flu strike...
She’s still with us and seems to still seem to be doing fine besides not standing or eating on her own she’s finally drinking on her own 90%of the time. At this point with it being so hit or miss on getting her to eat much at all I’m fine with her eating spaghetti she’s eating plenty of other...
She seems to be doing this again except her foot isn’t turning dark this time she seems to have lots of energy today and seem to be trying to get up but it make me uncomfortable when she lays like this. And I can’t seem to get her to unclench her one foot to really place it firmly under her. Any...
I guess it’s more yellow than anything still. Good news I think last night she was only putting her wings and legs out the way she was because she was just try to dry all her feathers. She hasn’t done it at all today. And on an even better note she at 3 small plates of spaghetti. That’s the most...
And just a quick correction on my end. Her poo is more of a dark green not a bright green. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not but figured it was worth correcting.
I’ll post some pics in just a little bit of her underside and what not. I’m going to get her to eat some more and continue drinking while she’s feeling good enough to open her eyes.
