I don’t really have a good device for pictures and don’t want to move her around much, yes I will say that before I left that some of the chickens had bullied her which led me to separate her from the flock while I was gone, so the back of her head is missing feathers and has dried up blood so...
Follow up question, is their any disease or infection that causes a chicken to lose weight, start drooling out of the mouth, skin around the eyes and waddle to darken / turn bluish green and cause her to have jerky head motions and be very stiff and smell absolutely horrible. I love this hen but...
I just got home from a 2 day vacation to find my hen in a bad state, she's 6 years old and doesn't look good. Her poop reeks, and her face in the span of two days has turned a greenish blue around the waddle and lower part of face (possible infection?) Her breathing seems fine at the moment but...
Just an update, these roosters are still available, I would keep them if I could but I am afraid of being reported to the county again for having roosters, my land is just under an acre so if someone reports me then I’m forced to get rid of them. But overall they are very good roosters that...
I currently have 2 very pretty roosters that need rehoming in California, I’m willing to meet anyone in the Sacramento/ auburn area and anywhere in between and maybe a little farther if need be. I’m unsure of the types of roosters I have since I was given the eggs by someone else but they are...
I have 2 chickens that are 3 months old now, I haven’t heard any crowing or rooster behavior but their tail feathers are giving me mixed signals.. I really hope they are hens but I’m not hopeful at those darn feathers. 😭
The chick ended up dying, I checked on it a few minutes ago and it was dead. No movement, noise or trying to break out. I feel like this week keeps getting worse and worse.
I’ve never hatched ducklings before so I don’t know what’s normal, in about six hours it will be 36 hours since they have made their internal pip but since then I haven’t seen an external pip at all? Is this typically normal for ducklings? The duck is still alive and trying.
Just checked this morning, still no external pip but they are definitely still trying with all their might. It’s been 24 hours after first seeing the internal pip. Here’s hoping they pip soon!
